The "card" is the core concept of the Game Cards app, and we have tried our best to make it a straightforward process to both view and create them.
When you first load the app all cards for the selected Game Zone will be available in the "main deck". You will see on the "top card" (screenshot below) various options for shuffling, filtering and showing how many cards are in the deck. You can also see in the top right an option to select a card deck...
You can click/tap on the far right (or left) of the card to see the first card in the deck, and so on to scroll through the deck until you return to the "top card".
If a "gif" animation is used in a card you can click/tap on it to stop/restart it playing (it can sometimes be a distraction having this playing whilst trying to read the card description!)
When you are viewing any card, click/tap the "home" icon in the bottom left corner of the card to return to the "top card". Click/tap the pencil icon over towards the bottom right corner to edit the card (you will only see this icon if you are the card creator). Alongside you will also see the creator name and date created.
Also along the bottom of a card you may see an arrow pointing up to the top left of the app...this is for transferring the card.
The screenshot below shows the card editor screen where you can:
enter a catchy title and description (of the task/challenge)
insert an image, either from your local file system or by entering a URL to an image hosted somewhere online
most image formats are accepted, including "gifs" (animated images)
500KB file size limit when using an image from your local file system
You can choose to make the card private (only you can view the card, even when others have access to your Game Zone)
you can allow or prevent others transferring the card into their Game Zone (the default is to allow this)
If you've saved the card and then come back to edit it, you will also be presented with options to:
duplicate the card
archive the card
delete the card
cards that have been awarded to players cannot be deleted - only archived
These options appear at the bottom beside the "save" button as shown below...
When you are viewing a card in a Game Zone you have been invited into (not your own), you may have the option to transfer the card to your Game Zone. This will be indicated by an arrow (↖️) along the bottom of the card...
When you transfer a card into your Game Zone you will be able to view it, add it to your card decks, and award it to players. However you will NOT be able to edit or duplicate it - only archive or delete it.
Deleting a transferred card only removes it from your Game Zone...it has no effect on the original card in the Game Zone where it was transferred from.
Others in your Game Zone will NOT be able to transfer the card to their Game Zone....it can only be transferred from the original Game Zone where it was created.
